Coldplay have denied accusations that their song 'Viva La Vida' features a melody stolen from Brooklyn based band Creaky Boards.
Creaky Boards accused Coldplay of melodic theft through a YouTube posting, in which they compared songs and showed footage of them playing at CMJ, where they claim they "thought" they spotted Chris Martin in the crowd.The Creaky Boards song is called 'The Songs I Didn't Write'.
Coldplay's spokespeople claim their song 'Viva La Vida' was written and demoed in March, 2007.
