Disturbed scored an easy number one in the USA this week with their 'Indestructible' album debuting with sales of around 250,000 units.
In a downturned music world, Disturbed broke tradition and actually did better with the new album than their last. Their last album, 'Ten Thousand Fists' sold around 239,000 units in week one when it was released in 2005. It went on to sell around 1.5 million units in the USA.The other one to watch this week is Weezer. While they haven't beaten their last album in the first week, 'The Red Album' has sold around 130,000 units. Enough to score the number 4 slot. The last Weezer album did around 190,000 in the first week.
The number two slot this week in America will go to compilation album 'Now 28'.
Journey will come in a 5 with their 'Revelation' album which is only available from Wal-Mart.
Ashanti's popularity is cooling. She sold around 90,000 units of her 4th album 'Declaration' to claim the number 6 slot.
Jewel, now an independent artist, will have a top 10 with her country album 'Perfectly Clear'.
Chris Brown should scrape in the top 10 with 'Exclusive'.
Radiohead probably won't make the top 10 with 'The Best of Radiohead'. Expect that to fall just outside the top 10.
Other expected US debuts outside the Top 20 are Gavin Rossdale's debut solo album 'Wanderlust', Opeth's 'Watershed', Brad Paisley's '5th Gear' and Lady Antebellum's self-titled album.
