INXS To Play Footy

INXS will perform at the 2006 Rugby League Grand Final in Sydney.

The event will be opened by Hoodoo Gurus who will perform 'Wipe Out' and followed by INXS who with a song yet to be decided for the event.

"INXS are without doubt one of Australia's leading musical acts," NRL Director of Marketing and Commercial Mr Paul Kind said in a statement. "Few bands in the world can claim to have the influence INXS have had on the music industry over such a long period of time and we are absolutely thrilled to have them perform at the Grand Final."

INXS are in a good place at the moment with their 'Switch' album going double platinum in Australia and sold-out shows across the country.

After the Australian tour, they will head to New Zealand, India, Europe and then the USA.

Remaining Australian dates are:

Sept 8 and 9, Sydney, Luna Park
Sept 12, Perth, Challenge Stadium
September 14, Adelaide, Thebarton Theatre
September 16, Hobart, Entertainment Centre
September 18 and 19, Melbourne, The Palais
