David Lee Roth's reunion with Van Halen has become money for jam for the band. The 2007/2008 reunion tour grossed $93 million.
Van Halen reformed with Roth for their first tour in 23 years. However, it wasn't the original line-up. In somewhat of a bizarre move, Eddie's son Wolfgang replaced founding member and bass player Michael Anthony.Van Halen played 74 shows on the tour that started in September 2007 in Charlotte, NC and ended in June in Grand Rapids, MI.
We send our thanks to the countless new and longtime fans that helped make this tour our most successful," said VAN HALEN in a joint statement. "We also send special gratitude to the tireless efforts of the VAN HALEN touring crew, Live Nation and the media, as well as opening acts Ky Mani Marley and Ryan Shaw," the band went on to say.
A DVD from one or some of the shows is expected to be announced soon.
