Usher's 'Here I Stand' will debut at number one in the US this week. The album sold around 445,000 units, almost 8 times more than the number two record, the soundtrack to 'Sex In The City'.
'Sex In The City' may have been this week's box-office hit in America but the album failed to translate into a major hit. It did debut at number 2, but on around 70,000 units. That's not much considering the high-profile of the movie release. One low-profile act who has done well is Al Green. His new album 'Lay It Down' is close for a Top 10 debut after selling around 30,000 units.
Well down the list though is Cyndi Lauper's dance record 'Bring Ya To The Brink'. The album that sounds like a Granny version of Kylie Minogue failed to connect with the US fans. It moved around 11,000 units bit won't make the Top 40.
