As previously speculated, Amy Winehouse has been now officially confirmed as one of the performers for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party gig in London's Hyde Park later this month.
In a statement, 46664 director Tim Massey said, ""We are delighted that Amy will be appearing at Hyde Park to celebrate Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday. Amy joins an illustrious list of names showing their support for 46664 and the fight against AIDS".The troubled pop star returned to the stage on Friday at the Rock In Rio festival in Lisbon and performed a 55-minute set. Her last show was in November, 2007.
The Nelson Mandela concert will feature Queen, Leona Lewis, Shirley Bassey, Simple Minds, Razorlight and the Soweto Gospel Choir as well as appearances from Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker.
