Mastodon Taps Brendan O'Brien

Hard rock act Mastodon will have their knobs twiddled by Brendan O'Brien on their next album.

Sessions began this week with the man who has produced AC/DC and Pearl Jam in the past.

The next Mastodon album will be the follow-up to the Grammy nominated 2006 release 'Blood Mountain'.

The band will be on tour as well, performing at the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival.

The tour will start July 9th in Seattle and play 30 cities.

The Mayhem Festival will also feature Sevendust, Airbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, and 36 Crazy Fists. Machine Head, Black Tide, Suicide Silence, The Red Chord and Walls of Jericho will be on the second stage.
