Sydney's Stone Parade recorded their first single, 'My Generation'.
Since forming in 2003, the band has won the 205 Coca-Cola Live n Local contest. They also took away the first prize of $10,000 in the Nokia Be Heard competition.Since then, Stone Parade has supported Maroon 5, Hoobastank and 3 Doors Down. They have performed in the USA and played at the famed Viper Room.
The debut album is in the can. 'Chase The Setting Sun' was recorded at the Fouche Brothers home studio.
A video has also been made for 'My Generation'.
"I see 'My Generation' as the fitting track for our first single. Creating awareness of the world's problems is the first step to problem solving, whether or not we believe what we read out there, prevention is a must. Amongst all of the world's problems new children are born everyday and no matter what happens, those children are part of the next generation who will carry on," lead singer Greg Byrne said in a statement.
Sydneysiders can see Stone Parade this Saturday at a free gig at Mall Music in the Warringah Mall from 1pm and at the Mona Vale Hotel that night.
'My Generation' has been released independently through MGM.
