Victor Willis, the man who played the camp cop in The Village People, was sentenced in California to three years probation on drug and gun possession charges.
Willis, 55, left The Village People for a second and final time in 1984, and has since struggled with periods of drug abuse. The most recent arrest occurred near San Francisco in March. He has been treated at a San Mateo County clinic since his arrest. The vocalist and songwriter - who co-wrote hits 'Y.M.C.A.' and 'In The Navy' - pleaded no contest in a San Francisco court, and received a three-year, eight-month suspended sentence. He has been told that he must attend a 30-day drug treatment program at the Betty Ford Clinic, as well as six months in a separate treatment program.
Judge Mark Forcum warned that Willis would go to prison if he violated the conditions of his probation.
