R. Kelly finally made it to court on Friday to face charged of sex with an underage girl, and his lawyers are still trying to delay the hearing.
After 6 years, Kelly finally faced the judge for the first day of the hearing but his lawyers tried to argue that the case should be once again delayed before a Chicago newspaper leaked details.His attorney is trying to hinge the blame for the case on the Chicago Sun-Times. He claims the newspaper was the original media organization handed the tape of the incident and that they have a vendetta against Kelly.
The delay tactics did not so easily fool Judge Vincent Gaughan. The defence was over-ruled.
The court will now appoint 12 jurors and 4 spares. The case will continue on Monday.
