The last Police concert ever will take place in New York in August.
The band together with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced today at a press conference that the final show will be a benefit for arts programming for public television stations.The Police will also contribute $1 million to MillionTreesNYC, an initiative of the mayor.
MillionTreesNYC plans to plant 1 million trees across the five New York City boroughs by 2017.
A date is yet to be set for the show. The venue is likewise unconfirmed.
After this show, The Police will once again be no more. You can now official write-off the chance of a new studio album. It just isn't going to happen.
