China has cancelled its Midi Festival just days before it was due to start in Beijing.
The Midi Festival is China's biggest outdoor music festival. 30 international acts and 100 local acts were scheduled to appear.China officials were nervous about protests that may have occurred at the event following the Tibet demonstrations that have followed the Olympic Torch Relay.
Midi is Chinese longest running rock festival. The event was to be held between May 1-4 at Haidian Park in Beijing.
The Chinese government has given approval for the event to be moved to October 1 but that places it along another scheduled music festival in Beijing at the same time.
This year would have marked the 9th year of the festival.
