Electronic music pioneer Tristram Cary has died at the age of 82 has died in the South Australian capital of Adelaide.
"Surgery complications" are the official cause of death, although what surgery he was undergoing is unknown.Cary was best known for his musical work used in the Dr. Who TV series. He had created the first electronic music studio at the Royal College of Music in 1967.
Cary immigrated to Australia in 1974 after becoming frustrated with the British music scene and he remained a senior lecturer at Adelaide University until he retired in 1984.
He was awarded the Order of Australia for his services to Australian music in 1999.
