Lawyers must love getting calls from Yoko Ono. She is keeping them in business. In the last week, Yoko has released the hounds twice.
She is suing a video company that plans to release a film of her late husband John Lennon smoking a joint and wondering aloud if he should drug Richard Nixon. The video was shot by her first husband Andrew Cox.Yoko is also suing premise Media for the use of the song 'Imagine' in the film 'Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed'. The film argues against the Darwin theory of evolution, instead theorizing that something like what John Lennon suggested in 'Imagine' may be closer to the truth.
Yoko's hounds claim that the inclusion of the argument in the film suggests that the Lennon family approved. The film-makers argue that they used a very small portion of the song under 'fair use' but Yoko counter-argues that they did it to get out of paying for the rights.
Earlier this year, Yoko tried to take action against singer Lennon Murphy, claiming that Lennon had no rights to her own name.
