Sony BMG has signed three singing priests for a reported £1 million contract.
Father Eugene O'Hagan, his brother Martin and Father David Delargy all have parishes in Northern Ireland. The singing trio is known as The Priests. While Father Eugene cites Il Divo as a musical favourite, Father David is the parish punk, preferring Blondie.
The Priests contract will allow them to stop promotional duties for urgent parish work, such as funerals.
Don't expect the potential Top of the Pops stars to be turning up for church in Ferraris. The Priests says that all of the money they make will be donated to charity.
The Priests debut album will be released in November.
