Australian songwriter and performer David Franj (Franciosa) has the "perfect" new job. Franj, who wrote Vanessa Amorosi's current single 'Perfect', is also the brains behind zoom2unes.com.
Zoom2unes is a musicians networking site with an advertising revenue model designed to raise funds for artists.David registered the zoom2tunes URL in mid 2006 and was offered the $9 million in funding within hours. Two days later, he was the subject of a channel 9 news report, talking about what he had done.
He plans to launch the site in 2009.
Tomorrow, business mag BRW will publish a story on David and his concept.
As a songwriter, David had his publishing with Ralph Carr's Standard Publishing. He recorded his song 'Perfect' with producer Richard Pleasance but around the same time decided not to pursue his recording career.
Franj played the song to Ralph Carr and Vanessa Amorosi. Vanessa wanted it for herself. She made some changes to the song and is now co-credited to Vanessa.
Vanessa's version of 'Perfect' will feature on her forthcoming album 'Somewhere In The Real World', due out on May 17.
