Steve Earle's classic 'Copperhead Road' is about to get a makeover.
Earle's third album is being reissued as a double album to mark its 20th anniversary.The new bonus disc will include 17 tracks including 11 previously unreleased tracks recorded live just before the original release of the album.
The historic recordings will give fans a glimpse into the songs as Earle was roadtesting the material. Covers of Bruce Springsteen's 'Nebraska', Rodney Crowell's 'Brown and Root' and Gram Parsons 'Wheels' are also featured on the bonus disc.
'Copperhead Road' was the peak of Earle's career. It wasn't until 2004 before he grabbed back his 80s fame when he won a Grammy for 'The Revolution Starts ... Now'.
The deluxe edition of 'Copperhead Road' will be released on April 29.
