Bad-boy rapper Eminem shows his soft side by auctioning off limited-edition Nikes for charity.
Eminem announced on his website that he will design limited edition uppers for eight different Air Max sneakers, from the Air Max '87 to the Air Max 360. They'll produce eight pairs of each design, which will be numbered and autographed. The shoes will be auctioned off over a four-week period through stores and eBay from August 31.The money raised from the collaboration between Marshall Mathers and the sportswear giant will go towards raising money for the Marshall Mathers Foundation and ninemillion.org. The Marshall Mathers foundation benefits children in southeast Michigan, Eminem's home turf, and ninemillion.org is a charity to improve the lives of the nine million children currently in refugee camps, providing them with education and sports programs.
Eminem said on his site, "We're always looking for new ways to try to raise money and awareness for the foundation, so when Nike approached us we jumped at the chance." Of, course, he added, "Who wouldn't want to design their own line of Nikes?"
Most recently Eminem appears on the first single, 'Smack That', from Akon's forthcoming album, 'Konvicted'.
