John Mellencamp and Stephen King musical

John Mellencamp's musical with Stephen King to premiere in Atlanta, April 2009.

King wrote the script for "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County," and Mellencamp wrote the music.

They hope to take it to Broadway. The story is about the deaths of two brothers and a young girl in 1957 in a fictional town in Massachusetts and the legend that grows out of that. You'd think that story came straight out of King's mind, but it was Mellencamp's idea, based on a story he had heard years ago in Indiana.
