Former Monkee Peter Tork is an advice columnist for The Daily Panic.com.
I don't know that he is contributing to society with the column. Most letters are from fanatic fans who want to know things like "why do rock stars get women", and if he still owns the Gretch but Peter does also get the occasional advise for depression and "should I stay with my boyfriend" letter. While Peter might very well give Dr. Phil a run for his money with the column, it is not a complete career move. He is still making music.
Peter's most recent album was 'Cambria Hotel', released in 2007 with Shoe Suede Blues.
Tork is now 66 years old. He is best known as a member of 60's TV act The Monkees, but scored the job by mistake.
Tork was sharing a place with yet-to-happen musician Stephen Stills who went along to audition for the role. Tork went along with Stills to give morale support at the audition and got the job over Stills.
The Monkees split in 1970. They reunited for a 30th anniversary tour in 1996 but the 40th anniversary in 2006 went unmarked by the band.
