Glen Hansard from Irish band The Frames has won an Academy Award.
Hansard picked up the Achievement in Music (Original Song) Award for 'Falling Slowly' with co-star Marketa Irglova for the movie 'Once'.Hansard was competing against 'August Moon' and three nominations from the movie 'Enchanted'.
'Once' is a love story about a modern day busker in Dublin who starts to write and record with an immigrant.
Hansard and Irglova play the lead roles in the movie and recorded the music in the film.
