Bob Dylan co-wrote the track 'Mr Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore'.David Weiss and Don Fagenson are the Was (Not Was) founders. The first album, released in 1981, featured MC5's Wayne Kramer and The Knack's Doug Feiger on guest vocals.
The final album was the compilation 'Hello Dad, I'm In Jail', which featured the infamous duet 'Shake Your Head' with Ozzy Osbourne and Kim Basinger trading vocals. All up, Was (Not Was) made 5 albums.
Was (Not Was) reformed for shows in the USA in 2004 and did a few shows in London in 2005.
When Don Was is doing his "real" job, he is producing. Was has produced albums for the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Glenn Frey and Garth Brooks, to name just a handful.
