Warner Music boss Lyor Cohen has denied newspaper reports that superstar R&B artist and entrepreneur Jay-Z is heading to the label.
A report surfaced in the New York Daily News late last week claiming the infamous "source" as the source of the rumour. As we all know, the "source" is that very knowledgeable person who speaks to every newspaper on the planet about everything in the world every single day. However, Cohen says that in this case, the source is wrong.
While saying he would love to work with Jay-Z again, at this point, there has been no discussion.
Cohen signed Jay-Z to Def Jam a decade ago and started Roc-A-Fella Records. Jay-Z went on to take the reigns of the company after Cohen defected to Warner.
Jay-Z quit his post at Def Jam in December. He is yet to surface with another or a new company.
As the source is so clever, here are a few other things that he had to say today:
Yahoo to reject Microsoft bid
Canada to get 2009 World Baseball classic
G7 statement to put FX focus on China
Victims enter building after gunman started holdup
But, hey, if he was wrong about Jay-Z, how can we be sure about the other stories?
