Jamie and Lynne Spears, the parents of popstar Britney Spears, are worried for their daughter after she was released early from a psychiatric ward in Los Angeles yesterday (Wednesday, January 6).
In a statement, the Spears' said "We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."Britney was taken to the UCLA Medical Center on Thursday January 31st and released without reason on Wednesday January 6.
The singer was originally under 72 hours observation and then committed for a further 14 days.
The sudden release of Britney created yet another media frenzy with paparazzi once again endangering the general public by chasing the singer through traffic and running up to her car when stopped in traffic to take photos.
At one stage, 15 media stalkers had Britney's black Mercedes surrounded.
Spears could not be legally kept in the hospital as she was admitted because of a court order. She was free to leave at any time and it was her decision to leave.
In the last week, her self-appointed manager Sam Lufti has been given a restraining order keeping him at least 250 years from Britney after Lynne Spears claimed that he had drugged Britney and was controlling who she saw.
Britney has also lost all visitation rights to her children Jayden and Sean.
A new worry for Britney is that a sex tape was stolen from her house while she was in hospital. A grand theft report was filed at the North Hollywood police station on Wednesday.
