Fergie was a strange choice for support act on The Police tour and the audience didn't seem to care much for her act.
The Black Eyed Peas singer had the crowd somewhat stunned with a rock and roll medley that just didn't work.Fergie covering McCartney's 'Live and Let Die', Led Zep's 'Black Dog' and The Stones 'Start Me Up' came across as bad karaoke. The crowd was not amused. At the end of the medley, the stadium was silent. The reaction was no better later when she covered Heart's 'Barracuda'
"If I did another new song you'd kick my ass," she said somewhat apologetically to the crowd.
Fergie was added to The Police tour in an attempt to boost tickets by bringing in a younger crowd.
However, the Fergie act without her regular band Black Eyed Peas looked more like an aerobics class than a stage show.
She gave the audience her greatest hits and threw in the BEP's 'My Humps' for good measure. Maybe she should have just stuck to the songs the audience was comfortable with.
Simply, without Black Eyed Peas, just doesn't cut it.
The one true highlight on The Police tour is the opening act, Fiction Plane. This is the band featuring Sting's son Joe Sumner. Now this is a band to watch.
