Mary-Kate Olsen has issued a short statement about the death of her good friend, Aussie actor Heath Ledger.
"Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time," she said to sum up for feelings.Heath Ledger died suddenly and unexpectedly last week in an apartment owned by Mary-Kate. Mary-Kate was in California at the time.
The housekeeper for the apartment found Ledger's body after he failed to keep an appointment for a massage. The police report now states that the housekeeper called Mary-Kate three times before alerting 911.
Earlier reports suggested that Ledger was still alive when the housekeeper entered the room but the initial autopsy confirmed that Ledger would have died three hours earlier.
Ledger was found with sleeping pills surrounding his body, suggesting a possible deliberate drug overdose, but later reports are now hinting towards death by natural causes.
Although Ledger was only 28, it is now looking like he may have just had a heart attack and died. Although rare for someone so young, it does happen.
Heath was also a business partner with musician Ben Harper. Last year, the mates started their own record label Masses Music Co.
The first act signed to the label was young Perth Australian singer Grace Woodroofe. Ledger directed her first video, a cover of David Bowie's 'Quicksand'.
Ledger's current movie 'I'm Not There' is still screening in cinemas. His next movie will be his last. He will star as The Joker in the latest installment of Batman titled 'The Dark Knight'.
