News reports in the US are now suggesting that Australian actor Heath Ledger died of a drug overdose.
The actor was found dead in his bed in his Manhattan apartment this morning.He was 28 years old.
Ledger was born in the Australian city of Perth.
Heath's first role was in the Western Australian production 'Sweat' in 1996.
His film credits include '10 Things I Hate About You', 'A Knight's Tale', 'Ned Kelly, and 'Brokeback Mountain'.
Ledger also had a music career, but unlike Russell Crowe, it was behind the scenes. He and Ben Harper started a record company. Ledger also produced Harper's video for 'Morning Yearning'.
He has also directed and produced three videos for Australian hip-hop artist N'Fa.
Police have ruled Ledger's death is "not suspicious'.
