Aussie rock 'n' roll legends Rose Tattoo are back in the studio, just months after the death of slide guitarist Pete Wells.
Replacing Wells will be ailing guitar legend and one time bassist for Rose Tattoo, Lobby Loyde.Loyde told Undercover earlier today, "Yeah I didn't know Rose Tattoo were doing a new album until they asked me to play last night."
"Obviously they don't have Pete Wells anymore, so they asked me to play. I'm not a real slide guitarist, but I'm the best choice after Pete!" he proudly said.
The album won't see the light of day for a while, but work has begun.
In other Tatts news, Rose Tattoo have just been confirmed to perform at the infamous indie/rock festival Meredith this year.
Ian Rilen, bassist for the Tatts, was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. Two benefit concerts are coming up for him at Melbourne's Prince of Wales hotel in October, featuring The Hoodoo Gurus, Beasts of Bourbon, Don Walker, The Spazzys, Rose Tattoo, Tim Rogers and the Temperance Union, Phil Jamieson and more.
Tickets to both shows are $25 and on sale now, with all proceeds going to help Rilen pay for his treatment.
