Kevin Federline launched his new single 'Lose Control' on unsuspecting children at the Teen Choice Awards.
Federline, aka Mr. Britney Spears, aka K-Fed, debuted the follow-up to his hilarious 'Popo Zao' on Fox's Teen Choice Awards on Sunday August 20. Hosts Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson threw to a very pregnant Britney Spears who took great pride in introducing the final act for the night; her husband.K-Fed was seated at a piano with his back to the audience for the introduction, as two rapping, dancing pre-teens warmed up the song over a halting beat. He leapt from the piano to rap over Busta Rhymes' 'Touch It' beat, then segued into his own song, promising "the hip-hop flavour mixed with a little bit of rock n' roll," but delivering mostly insipid self-aggrandisement.
Undercover isn't the first to baulk at the effort, US Rolling Stone noting K-Fed's effort was bad in "boring, tedious, somebody-please-intervene kind of way" while E! Online and AP mostly expressed surprise that it wasn't a complete train wreck.
Contact Music reported that rapper Ludacris said, "I'm very proud of him. He's faced so much negative criticism." The general reaction indicates that this won't be the last of it.
