After 8 weeks on the chart, 'Long Road Out Of Eden' has sold 2,608,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.The album was released independently in the USA on the band's own Eagles Recording Company label. In the USA, it will be sold exclusively by Wal-Mart for a one year period ending in October 2008. Outside America, the album is distributed by Universal Music.
Activity from the release of the album kept the band's back-catalogue equally buoyant. The band sold a further 975,000 units of their older records during 2007.
'Long Road Out Of Eden' was the first studio album from the band in 28 years.
The Eagles 'Their Greatest Hits' is the biggest selling album in US history and has lead Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' now for some years.
