Fergie Is The Queen, Digital Is King

Digital music accounted for 60% of sales in the USA in 2007. Of the 1.4 billion units of music sold last year, 840 million were digital tracks.

The most purchased digital music artist of 2007 was Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie.

Fergie sold 7,537,000 digital tracks last year, more than 1.5 million more than the second biggest seller, Timbaland, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Fergie's biggest selling digital song was 'Big Girls Don't Cry' which sold 2,525,000 units and placed it at number three. 'Big Girls Don't Cry' was the number two digital track selling 2,440.000 units. (Digital song means all versions of the song, digital track is the single version).

The biggest selling digital song for 2007 from Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's 'Crank That'. It sold 2,909,000 units.

Maroon 5 had the biggest selling digital album. 'It Won't Be Soon Before Long' sold 252,000 units.
