Lily Allen was the star attraction in the London suburb of Knightsbridge this week when she was on hand to officially open the Harrod's Winter Sale.
Lily was invited to attend by Harrod's owner Mohamed Al Fayed, the father of Dodi and one-time potential father-in-law to Princess Diana. The Harrod's sale is a big deal in London. People waited outside the store through the cold winter's night from 11.30pm just to be there up front for the 9am opening.
Canadian singer Alexandria Beck entertained the overnight crowd.
Lily arrived in a green horse-drawn carriage for the opening. She wore a black, backless, sequined gown.
Upon opening the store, she told the crowd "I'd like to thank Mr Al Fayed for giving me the opportunity to open this most famous store."
When asked what she would be shopping for, the newly pregnant singer said "Maternity dresses ... big ones".
The father of Lily's child is her boyfriend Ed Simons, from the Chemical Brothers.
Lily will have her own TV show on BBC3 in the new year. Her second album will also be released in 2008.
