Lily Allen has metaphorically waved St. George’s Cross with a twitter post cheering on the English cricket team.
“Whoooooooo, hooooooooooo,” she said rather enthusiastically of the fourth test in Melbourne. “England retain the Ashes on Aussie soil. Didn't get to see any of the last 2 tests but very proud! Well done !!!”
Australian fans are less impressed. If England wins the final test in Sydney, it will be the first time England has taken the Ashes on Australian soil since 1987.
And if a cricket win isn’t enough to keep her content, Allen said yes to her long term boyfriend Sam Cooper’s marriage proposal in Bali on Christmas day, so a double-congratulations is in order!
