One of the stars you won't see on the big screen over Christmas is former Faith No More/Mr. Bungle frontman Mike Patton ... but you will hear his voice.
Patton voices the part of one of the creatures in the new Will Smith blockbuster 'I Am Legend'.Patton, credited as Michael A. Patton, plays a cannibalistic, nocturnal mutant survivor in the movie about the last man on Earth.
He FNM star put his voice part down for the Vampire-like character in the studio under directions such as "you have a steel rod in your eye".
Will Smith has the starring role as Robert Neville, the last man on Earth after civilization is wiped out by a man-made virus.
According to the Warner film notes "Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague - The Infected - lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time."
Now that Patton has dabbled in movie stardom, he is heading back to a music studio instead of a film studio to continue working on his new music. His next project is an album with Dan The Automator, which Patton describes as "DMX for white people".
