Ween announce that they have forty songs ready for a new album.
Those musical idiot savant "brothers" Dean and Gene Ween noted on their freaky website that they have been recording new music and promised to keep going "until the well runs dry".They recently appeared on Lollapalooza and are set to end their tour with two State Fair shows alongside The Flaming Lips and Sonic Youth and two more solo shows in the South. The tour ends mid-September and the boys have promised to dedicate their time to finishing the album then.
True to form, Dean Ween (aka Mickey Melchiondo) also posted some bizarre goings-on in the world world of Ween. He recently granted an interview to starwars.com, proclaiming he and his son's love for the film series.
Dean also reported that a fan who had bought the vanity number plate of "Ween Me". Apparently the Department Of Motor Vehicles declared the plates obscene but after the Ween-mad fan spent eight months proving it was a reference to the band, rather than to the cessation of suckling, the plates were returned.
Ah, the weird and wonderful world of Ween.
