Being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame was an emotional moment for Helen Reddy.
Receiving the award from Toni Collette, Ms. Reddy thanked the Australian Music Industry for finally making her feel part of it.Helen told the audience that she was celebrating "55 years as a working musician" although she has officially retired from the industry.
Now living in Sydney, and is a practicing hypnotherapist. As a musician, she became the first Australian to win a Grammy Award. Her song 'I Am Woman' became an anthem for female liberation in the 70s.
Helen did not perform at the ceremony. Instead The McClymonts sang 'Delta Dawn' and Vanessa Amorosi sang 'I Am Woman'.
