On February 6, 2008, Madonna will host an exclusive fundraiser in New York to raise money for the charity Raising Malawi and UNICEF, to help the children of Africa.
The event is being done in association with Gucci, who that day will be opening a flagship store on New York's 5th Avenue.Madonna will have a host of her celebrity friends at the dinner, including Sting and his wife Trudi Styler, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Lucy Lui, Tea Leoni and Gwyneth Paltrow.
"I am grateful that Gucci is joining forces with me to bring attention to a country with millions of children in desperate need of our help" said Madonna in a statement. "Raising Malawi has already done tremendous work in helping these children. But we have much more to do and this event will surely bring us closer to our goal."
In 1997, Madonna was appointed and has served as the honorary co-chair for Gucci's Aids Project Los Angeles.
Both Madonna and Gucci are working together again "pursuing interests o behalf of orphans and children effected by HIV/AIDS in Africa".
