Bob Dylan has gone back into the studio to put down a new version of his 1963 classic 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall'.
The song will become the theme for Expo Zaragoza 2008, which is on in Madrid between June 14 and September 14 next year.The first airing of the song will be in December when the marketing campaign for the Expo kicks off.
The exhibition will focus on conservation and environmental issues. Dylan though original disputed the environmental message of the song once stating that "It's not atomic rain, it's not fallout rain. I just mean some sort of end that's just got to happen."
Dylan has chosen Spanish group Amaral to record the song with. The lyrics have been translated into Spanish.
Dylan wrote the song in 1962 when he was living in The Village in New York. It was first performed at Carnegie Hall on September 22, 1962 and recorded on December 6, 1962 and released on May 23, 1963 on his second album 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan'.
Bryan Ferry breathed new life into the song when his cover became an international hit in 1973.
In 2006, a metal version of the song was used for a car commercial in the United States.
