White Stripes' Jack White is working with Bob Dylan on an unfinished Hank Williams song.
The song, 'You Know That I Know' existed only in lyric form. Dylan asked White to work the lyrics up into a song and White wrote the music. The project is said to be a labour of love for Bob Dylan, who appears to be brewing a side-project similar to the Wilco/Billy Bragg 'Mermaid Avenue' albums which completed unfinished works of Woody Guthrie.
Neither Dylan, nor White have talked publicly about this project. The source of the information is reported to be Dominic Suchyta, the bass player for the band Steppin' In It.
Suchyta told Paste magazine that he was invited by White to play bass on the track.
The concept was Dylan's idea. Willie Nelson and Norah Jones are said to be also contributing to the project.
