'Graceland', the estate of Elvis Presley, was turned into one giant Christmas exhibition over the weekend.
The exhibit was officially opened by a Elvis-Santa who arrived at Graceland in a limo instead of a sleigh, and with a police escort instead of reindeer.Inside, Graceland is featuring the Presley family Christmas decorations for the very first time. The display includes cards sent by celebrities to Elvis at Christmas.
Elvis' Christmas presents are also on display at the mansion. They include:
- a set of bongo drums Priscilla Presley gave to Elvis
- Elvis' Bible, given to him by members of the Memphis Mafia
- Portable television Elvis gave to his mother in 1957
- Gifts to Lisa Marie from Santa, including a giant stuffed animal, chalkboard, makeup table, and tricycle.
Fans can visit the home and view the decorations until January 8, 2008.
For those of you who can't get to Memphis, a live webcam is pointed at the house and can be viewed at www.elvis.com/winter.
