Mike Skinner of The Streets has produced a 20-minute video for his new song 'Deluded In My Mind'.
Pitchfork Media reports that the video was made in conjunction with MTV's 25th anniversary. Mike Skinner worked with director Alastair Siddons and twenty-five young MTV UK viewers whose vox populi snippets have been edited together with other fanciful vignettes. Somewhere in there are parts of Skinner's fourth single from his 2006 album 'The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living'.In June, Skinner said, "Alastair and I have been blown away by the creativity and imaginations of the young people involved, and we have read hundreds of treatments and watched hours of videos in order to find the most interesting and intriguing content for this epic work."
Apparently the clip is the longest ever, pipping Michael Jackson's 18-minute short film to accompany his 1983 'Thriller' single. The clip is hardly narrative, nor can the song really be heard in its entirety, the chorus occasionally poppping up in montages between the talking heads.
If you think you can sit through the whole thing, head over to www.the-streets.co.uk and find it in The Shed section.
