Legendary power balladeer Meat Loaf has cancelled Euro shows but denies he's retiring.
Mr. Loaf had a series of concerts planned through November in Europe and the UK, but has had to cancel them due to a cyst on his vocal chords. He is reportedly undergoing voice therapy in order to determine whether he needs surgery.Meat Loaf, aka Marvin Lee Aday, said in a statement, "It really breaks my heart not to be able to perform these shows," but "I have to do what the doctors tell me so I can look forward to healing and coming back strong in 2008."
Regarding rumours that he was retiring, spurred from a report from a British newspaper that he said at a recent show "This is the last show I may ever do in my life", Mr. Loaf said in the statement, "Let me dispel any rumours before they start - I will be back."
He has also postponed his Australian tour slated for next year.
