Killing Heidi To Separate

Platinum-rockers Killing Heidi are reported to split.

Melbourne's Herald-Sun reported on Saturday July 1 that the award-winning Violet Town group, fronted by the brother-sister duo Ella and Jesse Hooper, will break up.

Although the band will cease to be an entity as Killing Heidi, the members will go on to new projects. It will be split down the middle, with Jesse and Ella to continue working together and the backline of drummer Adam Pedretti and bassist Warren Jenkin teaming up to work on new material.

Jess Hooper told the Herald-Sun that new Killing Heidi material has already been recorded but doubted it would be released anytime soon. As for the sibling's plans, he said, "Ella and I are heading to the country to do some song writing for a while and get some idea of what we want to do next. If it's Killing Heidi, great. If not, we'll do something else. We have been around for a long while. We need down time."

The band's debut ‘Reflector' was a huge success, selling five times platinum and topping the charts but both their 2002 follow-up ‘Present' and their most recent self-titled album from 2004 also hit top twenty and went Gold.
