The life of cricket legend Shane Warne is set to be made into a comedic musical by Eddie Perfect.
The show, to be produced by Token Events, looks set to trade on the success of 'Keating! The Musical', Casey Bennetto's hugely popular musical interpretation of the former Prime Minister. That show featured Perfect as former opposition leader John Hewson.'Shane Warne: The Musical' features an eclectic array of tunes, including: a Bollywood style number based in Warne's liaison with an Indian bookmaker; a tune called 'What An SM-ess I Am In' based in Warne's liaison with women other than his wife; a metal number based on Warne's liaison with banned substances; and a power ballad based on Warne's numerous liaisons with beer.
The show, which was previewed as a work-in-progress at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in July looks set to premiere in 2008. News Ltd noted the at UK tour was "a distant but likely prospect".
