Proceeds from Keane's new song 'The Night Sky' will go to War Child, to benefit children in war torn Iraq.
In Iraq, War Child works on a number of initiatives that offer support and protection to children living in this war-ravaged country. These include drop-in centres where children who live or work on the streets can find some security, food and educational; and social advocacy programs that help to reintegrate children who have been in conflict with the law back into their families and communities.Keane single funds War Child's work in Iraq.
War Child was founded in 1993 to help and protect children caught up in wars. The foundation first started working for the protection of children in Yugoslavia.
War Child Australia was registered in 2002.
"We are very proud to be involved with War Child," Keane's Tom Chaplain said in a statement. "One child dies every three minutes because of armed conflict, and all of us can do something about it. War Child do something quite extraordinary and unique in helping to make the lives of future generations better, we hope everyone wants be a part of that."
Keane wrote the song with Andy Green from a child's perspective in a war-torn region.
Proceeds will go towards War Child's protection work in Iraq.
