UK rock legends Swervedriver will reunite in 2008 for a world tour.
Almost ten years after the band apocryphally walked their separate ways after splitting up in a tour van outside Perth, Australia, the band are set to reignite their hard-edged take on the shoegazer aesthetic.Dates are yet to be confirmed for the reunion, and there's no news as to whether the band will record new material. Their last album was 1998's '99th Dream', which followed 'Ejector Seat Reservation' in 1995, and 1993's seminal release 'Mezcal Head'.
Frontman Adam Franklin, who is currently in the midst of a solo US tour, last week hinted that a reunion might be imminent, telling the St Louis alternative newsweekly 'Riverfront Times', "Well, it's great that people still talk about the band. It's been ten years since Swervedriver has done anything and twenty years since the band formed. Obviously a lot of bands have been reforming lately. A lot of these bands you go and see them, and it's really quite awe-inspiring. I went and saw the Pixies when they reformed and it was kind of spine-tingling. So, who knows? Perhaps."
