Rob Van Winkle invites Australians to ring in the New Year with 'Ice Ice Baby'.
In one of the more absurd summer tour announcements, The Iceman Cometh. He has decided to play some shows on an itinerary that mostly resembles a surfing holiday. Maybe he was inspired to come to the home country of his pet wallaroo, Bucky. Or maybe he has been run out of the US with pitchforks and flaming torches. He will reportedly be joined on the shows by a DJ and drummer and play some dates with previously credible beatmakers Kid Kenobi & MC Shureshock and The Stafford Brothers.
In addition to playing his hits 'Ice Ice Baby' and 'Play That Funky Music', he supposedly does covers of the Stones' 'Satisfaction' and Acca Daccas 'You Shook Me All Night Long'. More promising than the cover of Destiny's Child's 'Survivor' he performed on ITV's washed-up celebrity show 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'.
The shows are destined to be party-rap landmarks. Catch him at beachside suburbs from Cairns to Sydney.
