The Dixie Chicks have been forced to drop 14 tour dates in America's South and Midwest as their famous anti-Bush comments continue to haunt them.
Of the 49-date tour, only four dates remain in America's country music heartland - Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville and Austin. These dates will now go ahead at the end of the tour, in late November and early December.Ticket sales have been poor across the South, with shows cancelled in cities including St Louis, Memphis and Houston. The Dixie Chicks have been banned on many radio stations across the South due to lead singer Natalie Maines' comments in March 2003 in London, that she was "ashamed" to come from the same state as former Texas Governor George W. Bush.
