In an effort to catch up to new media, Universal UK plans USB releases for Kanye, Keane, Winehouse and more.
USB Core reports that Universal will release its first two USB singles from October 29. Keane are slated to be a contender, most likely with their War Child charity single 'The Night Sky' which is due for release on that date. Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, who has single 'Super Villain' slated for release late in October, will also release on USB.The singles will reportedly be priced at £4.99. This is more than the usual single price of £2.99 but the rationale is that multimedia extras and extra storage on the stick will entice buyers.
Universal is testing the USB delivery method in the UK and is expected to release Amy Winehouse and Kanye West's latest albums on USB by the end of the year.
