Divinyls are back together.
The 80s Aussie band, best known for the global hit 'I Touch Myself', will release a new album in 2008, with a single 'Don't Wanna Do This' as a prequel. The band, featuring Chrissie Amphlett and Mark McEntee, have been working on their new music with Pat Thrall and Charlie Drayton in Las Vegas.
The line-up for the touring band will include Drayton and guitarist Charlie Owen. A bass player will be announced soon.
Divinyls disbanded in 1996 after a 15 year career which kicked off with the blistering rocker 'Boys In Town'.
Amphlett was already a seasoned performer when she joined the band, after starting her live career as a 14 year old fronting Melbourne's One Ton Gypsy.
By 17, her singing career found her a place in a nice Spanish jail after she was arrested for busking.
Divinyls started in 1980 and featured Jeremy Paul of Air Supply in the original line-up.
The band first struck Australian artists in mass when they appeared in the Ken Cameron film 'Monkey Grip'. Divinyls debut mini-album was the soundtrack to the movie.
Their string of hits include 'Science Fiction', Good Die Young', 'Pleasure and Pain', 'Sleeping Beauty', 'Back To The Wall', 'I Touch Myself', 'Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart' as well as 'Boys In Town'.
Last year, the band reformed as a one-off to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
Divinyls will perform 4 shows in Australia before the end of the year.
